About me

Hello, welcome to my webpage/blog/collection of links, photos and information. I rarely update these pages and many of you might find them slightly irrelevant. They are actually more or a less the remains of many years of webdesign (many years I programmed my own CMS, now this can easily solved using wordpress or other free CMS systems) I do not wish to part with completely.

From 2009-2015, I was a student in the department of Aerospace & Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech and have received both a MS and PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering. Before going to the US,  I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Trier. During my time at Virginia Tech I was partially funded by a Fulbright scholarship and have served as chapter president of the Fulbright Alumni Association. Currently I work at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Goettingen in the spacecraft department. My research involves multiphase flows and combustion in solid rocket motors.

My other research interests include turbo machinery, multiphase flow, computational fluid dynamics, laser based flow measurements and biomedical flows. While at VT I was a founding member and treasurer of the Interdisciplinary Research Honor Society at Virginia Tech. An overview of my research papers, as well as my general CV can be found in this section and on google scholar.
